Responsibilities for Haematology and Oncology Nurse Jobs in UK:
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, provide high-quality nurse care to oncology and hematology patients.
- Once trained, give chemotherapy, immunotherapies, IV drugs, and blood products.
- Help patients before and after transplants, including those who are neutropenic or have a weak immune system.
- As an ANP, you will work with Palliative Care, Acute Oncology, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and other teams.
- Make sure that patients give their agreement and understand how the treatment works, any side effects, and how to take care of themselves.
- Help with managing and setting up nursing services in all areas of cancer care.
- Learn how to do cannulation, venepuncture, and use of central access devices such as PICC, Hickman, and portacaths.
